Crown Trophy NIT Runners Up

Hugheville Hustle 16U-Headley came out ready to play this past weekend and the results showed.  The girls completed the weekend with a 4-1-1 record only allowing 2.6 runs per game and scoring 6.1 runs a game.  Every member of the team contributed on offense, defense or both for a great team effort.  16U-Headley played some tough games through Saturday and Sunday including the championship game on Sunday afternoon at Potomac Lakes Sports Complex.  The championship game was a nail bitter through the Bottom of the 6th with Hustle leading 2-1 going into the last inning, unfortunately they could not hold the lead and ended up losing to a great Leesburg Revolution team.  Even though the team fell short of their goal of first place, the team itself made huge strides in their game play and showed everyone on and off the field the hard work they have put in.  Pitching, great defense and timely hitting contributed to their overall success and they hope to build on that success as they head into their last Fall Tournament in Newport News, VA this weekend.
